Thursday, January 29th Pucker Up

I took a citrus plate to Girl's Night Out dinner at Paula's last night.  This time of year, I've about had it with roasted this and comfort that!  A little citrus to brighten the color of the dinner plate and to wake up the taste buds is welcome, even when it's -2 outside.

Wednesday, January 28th Hit and Run

Scott's Subaru was left in this condition by a hit and run driver.  %^(%$##<!!!!

Tuesday, January 27th Bird Watching

One of Banjo's favorite pastimes!

Monday, January 26th Family Time

Don and his cousin Bill drove to Maine for a couple of days, and stayed with Carol and Omer.   Here Carol, Omer and Bill are enjoying a beverage at the bar, that Carol and Omer had built using the money from  Aunt Janet's inheritance.  Aunt Janet would have drunk to that!

Friday, January 23rd Red Pole Visit

A huge flock of red poles came to the feeders.  This one agreed to pose for a portrait while chowing down on sunflower seeds.

Thursday, January 22 Whoooopie for Whoopie Pies

I came home from a long, cold, cross country ski to find a plate of freshly made whoopie pies awaiting me.  I'm kinda liking this retirement of Dons!  He made them himself!

Sunday, January 18th Same syrup, New wordiness

Don and Pat went to the Maple Syrup Producers Conference and came back with this new syrup grading kit.  It's the same syrup, but now we have to call it by different names.  We didn't buy any "Fancy" stickers since we never make fancy syrup.  That's for city folks.

Saturday, January 17th What's Your Angle?

The cross piece on the barn door must be cut exactly right (correctly) so that the angles of the diagonal support fit into the square frame.  Guess you better know your geometry!

Some measuring
Some figuring
Angling the saw for the proper angle cut

Making sure

Making the cut.

Stay tuned to see if it worked!
Angle's no ANGEL,
Or circle or sphere,
But they do come in handy,
When building, my dear...

Friday, January 16th Happy Belated Birthday Mom!

We start with dinner at the Sherpa Kitchen and Mo tells us about foods she ate on her trip to Nepal. Here is my dinner of spicy lamb curry with rice, papadum, raita, and sherpa bread.

She huffed

and she puffed

and she blew the candles out!
